ABOUT

Ian Wallace is a scenic and projection designer for theatre, opera, dance and film. He has designed extensively in the US and internationally, collaborating with directors who include Gabor Tompa, Christopher Ashley, Moises Kaufman, Mindy Cooper, and Toby Sedgewick. His designs have been seen internationally at venues in Toronto, London, Budapest, Romania, and the Avignon Festival in France. He has also designed regionally for companies including the La Jolla Playhouse, San Diego Rep, Opera San Jose, San Jose Stage, B Street Theater and Capital Stage. He also worked in television for several years as a set designer for the soap opera Guiding Light on CBS. He received is MFA from UC San Diego. He received his BFA in Drama from NYU, Tisch School of the Arts, where he had the opportunity to intern with George Tsypin. Ian is a member of United Scenic Artist local 829.

Ian is a Professor of Theatre and Cinema Arts at Folsom Lake College, where he also serves as the department chair. Ian also lectures at University of California, Davis.

Ian lives with his wife and two amazing daughters in Sacramento, CA.
